initial intake for PSYCHOEDUCATIONAL EVALUATION
A 90 minute initial consultation is used to gather important background information, developmental history, and explore your current concerns. We discuss your child’s strengths and challenges across a variety of developmental domains; adaptive behavior, academics, social emotional skills, communication, motor, sensory, and health. We talk about the assessment process, answer questions you may have, and your desired outcomes for your family.

Initial Intake 90 Minutes

The data and information from a psychoeducational evaluation informs intervention and support in home, school and beyond, including IEPs and 504 Plans. Having your child evaluated can give you individualized recommendations and provide a roadmap on how to help your child.

Comprehensive Evaluation
The psychoeducational evaluation process involves comprehensive, individualized assessments and testing for 8 hours. The family will have a 90-minute feedback meeting to review diagnostic impressions, the child’s personal strengths and challenges, and recommendations for support. Then the family will receive a detailed report outlining cognitive, academic, and behavior functioning to inform tailored educational interventions and support strategies.
Charleston Educational Services administers the ADOS-2 in conjunction with other sources of data for Autism evaluations.

Charleston Educational Services offers cognitive (IQ) testing using the WISC-V for students seeking admission to private schools, academic programs, or gifted and talented placement. This assessment provides a comprehensive measure of a student’s intellectual abilities and is widely accepted by schools for admissions and eligibility decisions.
The fee includes administration of the assessment, scoring and interpretation of results, and a written report summarizing the student’s cognitive profile and Full Scale IQ. Results are presented in a clear, concise format suitable for submission to schools, along with a feedback session to review findings and answer any questions.

Using standardized assessments such as the Kaufman Test of Educational Achievement, Woodcock-Johnson Tests of Achievement, Wechsler Individual Achievement Test, and other measures designed to assess reading, writing, or math skills, this evaluation offers a clear picture of current academic performance and grade-level functioning.
